Seven members of a family were burnt to death in an accident between a truck and a car in Rajasthan's Sikar district.
The car caught fire after the accident. Two children and three women died. The accident happened on Sunday afternoon.
Residents of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh were the victims of the accident. Neelam Goyal (55), son Ashutosh Goyal (35), Manju Bindal (58), their son Hardik Bindal (37), wife Swati Bindal (32) and two girls died.
The accident took place while returning from the Salazar Balaji Temple in Salazar, Rajasthan. The incident took place when the car driver was trying to overtake a truck carrying a load of cotton.
When another vehicle came from the opposite direction, the car lost control and hit the truck. After the collision, the LPG kit in the car exploded.
The cotton in the truck caught fire. Locals tried to rescue but could not open the door of the car.
With this, the car was completely burnt. Eyewitness Ramnivas Saini said the passengers screamed for help but could not be rescued.
By the time the fire brigade reached and put out the fire, all seven people were dead. After the accident, the truck driver and his helper escaped from the spot.
