2024 Lok Sabha election date announced. The first phase of the election will be held on April 19 and the counting of votes on June 4. Polling in Kerala will be held on April 26. In the first phase, the elections will be held in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh. Elections in Kerala are included in the second phase.
Kerala has to wait 39 days for the result announcement. The election notification will be released on March 28. April 4 is the last day to submit nomination papers in the states where polling will take place in the second phase.
Scrutiny of papers on 5th April. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers will be April 8. The election dates were announced by Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, who took charge on Friday, in a press conference at Vigyan Bhavan.
The first phase will be held on April 19, the second phase on April 26, the third phase on May 7, the fourth phase on May 13, the fifth phase on May 20, the sixth phase on May 25 and the seventh phase on June 1.
Voting will be done in 7 phases. The commission had completed the national survey on the election preparations of all the states the other day. There will be seven phases of voting this time.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that the country is fully prepared for the elections. The term of the 17th Lok Sabha will end on June 16. Rajeev Kumar said that every election is a new test and there are a total of 97 crore voters in the country.
