The Law Commission has suggested that the age of consensual sex should be raised from 18 to 16.
If the proposal is implemented, the POCSO section will not be imposed on consensual sex with persons above the age of 16. The report was submitted by the commission chaired by Justice Rituraj Aswathi.
According to the report submitted by the Law Commission, there should be facility to submit First Information Report (FIR) online. Ritu Raj Aswathi said that a country has a lot to do with an election and has not reached a final decision.
