COMING SOON TATA iPHONE..

Mumbai: Tata Group plans to become the first iPhone manufacturer in India.  Tata is in the process of acquiring the Wistron Corporation factory in Karnataka where the iPhone is assembled.

It is reported that Tata will soon sign the agreement in this regard.  Currently, the iPhone 14 model is being assembled at the factory of the Taiwanese company Wistron Corporation.  With over 10,000 employees, this factory has an estimated value of over $600 million.  Tata's deal with Wistron will be worth around Rs 60 crore. Tata manufacturing the iPhone will benefit the Make in India initiative in a big way.

 Exports will increase

Wistron Corp. aims to ship $1.8 billion worth of iPhones by the end of this fiscal year.  There are also plans to triple the number of workers in the factory.  With the acquisition of this factory by Tata, the iPhone manufacturing operations in India will come under Tata.  TrendForce had earlier reported that Tata Group can manufacture the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models to be released this year in India.

 Benefits to users

Tata Group joining hands with Apple will benefit consumers in India.  There will be an opportunity to own them at the launch of the iPhone itself.  Every year a new iPhone is launched in California, the capital of Apple.  The new phone is arriving in the Indian market more than a week after its launch.  With the Tata Group taking over the construction, the delay will be avoided.  Moreover, there will be a situation where the price of the iPhone will be lower. With the entry into the manufacturing of the iPhone, Tata is establishing its presence in the field of electronics as well.
