BJP has filed a complaint against DCC president Palode Ravi for insulting the national anthem. BJP Thiruvananthapuram District Vice President RS Rajeev filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner. According to the complaint, the National Anthem was played on the mic stand and started playing wrongly and this was deliberate. According to the complaint, this should not happen from a person who was an MLA and should be investigated and action should be taken.
The incident took place at the end of Congress' Samaragni Jatha. At the closing meeting of the Samaragni Jatha, Palode Ravi sang the wrong lyrics of the National Anthem. When he realized that he was wrong, T Siddique intervened and said that he would put the CD. Then Alipetta Jamila sang the National Anthem in a modified version. The video of the incident was widely circulated on social media.
